Kiprotich bags hat-trick to inspire Modern Coast Rangers past Nairobi Stima

Innocent Kiprotich scored a hat-trick as Modern Coast Rangers thrashed Nairobi Stima 3-1 in a one-sided midweek National Super League match played at Camp Toyoyo on Wednesday.

Kiprotich gave the visitors a first half 1-0 lead before completing his hat-trick in the second half to hand Modern Coast their fifth win of the season.

The win took Modern Coast up to 10th in the standings with 18 points, 10 points behind leaders Kenya Police.

In Kakamega, Collins Mulema solitary goal was enough to hand Soy United a vital 1-0 win over Migori Youth as they moved four points above the relegation zone.

Talanta went second in the league standings after edging out Fortune Sacco 1-0.

Other results saw Kibera Black Stars defeat Mwatate 2-0 as APS Bomet held Shaban to a barren draw.

Muranga Seals and Mt Kenya also played out to a barren draw as Kenya Police extended their lead atop the standings with a 2-1 win over Gusii FC.

After round 13 matches, Kenya Police lead standings with 28 points, five clear off second placed Talanta as Coast Stima follow in third with 20 points.

Mt Kenya, Muranga Seals and Migori Youth occupy the bottom three spots.
