Football Kenya Federation confirmed that Kenya’s second-tier football league will officially start this weekend in various stadiums across the country.

The government through the Ministry of Sports last month only cleared the top-tier leagues to resume without fans but the federation said yesterday the NSL matches will kick-off.

“The matches are on. We have been planning for this for a long time and after close consideration and deliberation with stakeholders we saw it fit to kick off the league,” said the federation.

In the fixtures, Mwatate United will play coast Stima, Nairobi Stima entertain newbies Soy united as former KPL champions Sony Sugar travel to play Silibwet.

On Sunday, former Kenyan Premier League side Shabana will travel to play Chemelil Sugar in the first fixture of the season in Kisumu as Modern Coast Rangers play Talanta.
