Newbies Kisumu Hot Stars returned to the top four in the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/football/2001396998/national-super-league-to-kick-off-on-saturday">National Super League (NSL)< standings after narrowly edging out Kibera Black Stars 2-1 in an entertaining match played at Moi Stadium in Kisumu over the weekend.
Crispin Mariga first-half opener and Charles Adika late goal was enough to hand ‘Opuk’ their fifth win of the season.
Speaking to Standard Sports, Hot Stars captain Fredrick Odongo said the team is now focusing on improving their away form by winning their midweek match against Muranga Seals.
“We have not been performing well away from home but with the recent adjustment we have made tactically, we are confident we can start getting maximum points from home,” said Odongo.
The win took Kisumu Hot Stars to joint third in the table standings with 17 points from 10 matches. Other teams in third position include Kisumu All Stars and Fortune Sacco who have two games in hand.
