NSL: Kenya Police go top as Hot Stars and Shabana bag vital wins

Kenya Police maintained their top spot atop the National Super League (NSL) standings after edging out former premier league side Mount Kenya United 2-0 at Camp Toyoyo over the weekend.

The win saw Police solidify their lead at the top of the NSL standings with 18 points, one more than Fortune Sacco in second place.

Fortune Sacco saw off Silibwet 4-0 to keep pace with leaders Police as they registered their fifth win of the season.

Talanta FC, meanwhile, racked up maximum points after thrashing another former KPL side Kisumu All-Stars 3-1 at the Ruaraka Grounds to move to third in the standings with 16 points.

The loss left Kisumu All Stars seventh in the log with 13 points.

In Kisii, Shabana FC bounced back to winning ways after thrashing Muranga Seals 3-1 at Gusii Stadium with the win taking them to fifth in the log with 14 points same as Coast Stima who were held to a 2-2 draw with MCF.

In Kisumu, Kisumu Hot Stars narrowly edged out Migori Youth 1-0 to move up to sixth in the standings with 13 points same as All Stars but with a greater goal difference.

In the relegation zone, Mwatate FC remained 18th in the standings despite winning 3-2 against Vihiga Bullets as Mount Kenya and Muranga Seals close the bottom two clubs with four and one point respectively.
