Kariobangi Sharks moved to the summit of the FKF Premier League on Saturday after defeating Nairobi City Stars 2-1 in an early kick off match played at Ruaraka Grounds.

The win saw Sharks leapfrog record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia who will not be in action this weekend owing to their Caf Confederation Cup assignment.

Sharks have 16 points same as Homeboyz who saw off hosts Nzoia Sugar 1-0 in Bungoma.

Sharks captain Geoffrey Shiveka gave Sharks the lead in the 22nd minute from the penalty spot after Lennox Ogutu had fouled Erick Mmata.

The visitors took the1-0 advantage into the break but that would change 10 minutes after the restart when Ezekiel Odera restored parity from close range.

Second half substitute Patrick Otieno would then seal all the three points after sneaking around the City Stars defenders to score past Jacob Osano in goal. The defeat left Nairobi City Stars in fourth place with 13 points.

Elsewhere, Sofapaka defeated Kenya Police 2-0 to move to the bottom half table with 10 points.
