Record Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia will face off against Kariobangi Sharks in the quarterfinals of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup quarterfinals set for Wednesday and Thursday.

Goals by South Sudanese import Tito Okello and ex-captain Kenneth Muguna led the Green Army past a resilient Mara Sugar side in a narrow 2-1 victory in the round of 16 match played at Ruaraka grounds.

K’Ogalo will now have to go past a stubborn Sharks side who withstood a good fight from KCB in the round of 16 match played at Utalii Grounds to knock out the bankers in a penalty shoot-out after playing out to a 1-1 draw in regular time.

In 2018, Sharks edged out Gor 4-2 in penalties at the same stage to sail through to the semifinals of the then Shield Cup, a repeat the Green Army would not want to avoid.

Elsewhere, defending champions Bandari run over Sigalagala 5-0 at Utalii grounds to book a quarterfinals date with the only non-premier league outfit still at the cup knockout competition Equity Bank.

Mirimi Benjamin, Lugogo Wilberforce, Mwamba Guelord and Oluoch Cleophas scored for the Dockers to keep their dream of winning the competition back to back alive.

Meanwhile, eight times champions AFC Leopards knocked out Bungoma Super Stars 4-2 in an entertaining clash played at Thika Municipal stadium.

Kennedy Wanyonyi had given the Bungoma-based side a narrow 1-0 lead into the break before Ingwe responded in the final half through Captain Robinson Kamura, Collins Shichenje, Isaac Kipyegon (penalty) and Elvis Rupia to set up a last-eight clash with league leaders Tusker.

The brewers advanced to the quarters after seeing off Luanda villa 1-0 on Saturday, the same day Bidco United saw off Egerton with a similar scoreline.

Nairobi City Stars beat Ulinzi Stars 2-0 at Ruaraka grounds courtesy of goals from former Gor Mahia and Zoo striker Nicholas Kipkirui and Davis Agesa.

The win will now Peat City Stars against fellow Premier League side Bidco United.
