Arsenal are considering offering Thierry Henry a coaching role with the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The Frenchman's New York Red Bulls contract is due to expire at the end of the MLS season next month and is yet to announce his next move.

Many believe the campaign will signal the end of his illustrious career and Arsene Wenger could make a move.

Asked if Henry could return as coach, Wenger said: "It's not impossible. I welcome people who have played for us to come back but not (for just) an honorary job.

"He has to learn the job first. I have seen so many who have the qualities and they have not survived their first job because they are not ready."
