Kenya: The Acting Executive Director of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Mr. Joshua Kawino on Monday received two sets of lists of the officials for the party’s Homabay Branch Executive Committee which were presented to him following separate meetings to fill-in vacant positions left either through death or resignations.
Mr. Kawino received the first list from a team led by Homabay County Woman MP Mrs. Gladys Wanga and another one from a team led by Homabay Town MP Mr. Opondo Kaluma each claiming to be have been endorsed by the delegates to steer the party forward in the County.
“In the interest of harmony, unity and the enormous support the ODM enjoys in the County, he will now forward the two lists to the relevant party organs for further directions.
ODM wishes to inform supporters in Homabay County that a solution to the impasse will be found soon and the operations of the party to continue running smoothly.” Read part of the statement.
According to the ODM director of communications, an earlier list of officials to the Homabay Branch Executive Committee purported to have originated from Mr. Kawino does not stand.
