Defined by their sweet and tangy flavour, mangoes, or maembe in Swahili, belong to the genus Mangifera and are a tropical delight widely cultivated in Kenya but native to South Asia.

During the months of November and April, you better make friends with at least one person from the Kamba tribe, as their lands produce fertile and sweet species of mangoes.

They are known as the “king of fruits” in many cultures and are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Some of the benefits include the ability to improve one’s vision, boost immunity as well as aiding in digestion and reducing inflammation.
