Advice to all campus comrades as exams begin

It is here again- that dreaded period of exams for universities. It is at such a time that comrades are forced by circumstances at hand to pore over their notes and peruse pages all day, all night.

Grades are important, remember. But then again, it is at such a time as this that other comrades from within and without seek to discourage you from your bright future, dear comrade.

Some students know well the power of social media, and they don’t hesitate to use it. It is them who come up with funny memes- memes whose primary agenda is to make you, dear comrade, see how it is useless to study well for your exams.

Such guys will tell you, behind their keyboards and keypads, that you don’t really have to score the first class, the A that you have been dreaming of.

Dear comrade, since such funny creations make you laugh (and you at times pass it on to others), be careful lest you fall to their snare. Laugh, but read; revise my guy.

History will remind us that throughout the years of one’s education, there have always been those whose main aim is to distract you from your path of focus.

If you remember well, they existed in high school — those ‘friends’ who used to tell you story after story when the end of term exams neared. And you, poor guy, got hooked, until the very last minute. Those people didn’t die with high school days.

They are there with you on campus but in different forms. They could come in forms of ‘hot’ girls, who give you undivided attention (yet they could have snubbed you throughout the semester).

They could come as your friends with new hooking movies, or banters over the BBI report, et Cetra. With such, dear comrade, exercise caution. Your (bright) future is important than such temporal things.

Now I need to remind you of the hitherto clichéd consequences of exam malpractices. That mwaks in your pockets could lead you out of the university’s gate for good. Or if you will be lucky, a whole year outside. Avoid it at all costs.

You need to prepare (well) before that moment of reckoning comes, don’t you? It is never too late to go through those long-forgotten notes, even if it means borrowing your friends’.

Suspend all the unnecessary stuff for now. I don’t want to repeat myself, or worse, sound like a parent, so I choose to stop here. I also have a paper tomorrow. I wish you well, comrade!
