Tusker is looking to award Kenyans’ top e-Sports players, the first of its kind competition in the country with winners taking home millions of shillings worth of playing equipment.

The Tusker Nexters final talent search will also be awarding the best upcoming music artistes with recording deals as it celebrates its 100th year anniversary in May 2022.

Twenty contestants in the e-Sport category and 20 others in music are set to showcase their talent to the world after months-long countrywide auditions.

Tusker brand manager Catherine Twesigye said the campaign aims to bring out the next generation of Kenyan talent in music and sports.

“It is also an introduction of the broader Kenyan audience to e-Sports, or electronic sports, which is globally considered as the next frontier of virtual sport and thousands of Kenyans across the country have participated in the competition for both music and eSports for a chance to represent their region at the national finals that will be held in May 2022,” said Twesigye.

Twesigye spoke in Mombasa, during the Tusker Nexters talent search at the Coast region that was headlined by Redsan, Fena Gitu and Mejja.

The two-day audition and knockout e-Sports competition at the Butterfly Pavilion Mombasa saw a large turnout of youths compete.

Twesigye said that the talent search will give the participants and winners a chance to showcase their talents to the world.

She said the winners will also be accorded opportunities to perform on stage and be nurtured to become the next big artistes in the country.

Curtis Shume, Angachi, Lexxie and Abdul Yakub were crowned the regional winners for the Coast edition of the Tusker Nexters talent in Mombasa on Saturday.

“The win this weekend in Mombasa brings to a close the nationwide audition process that saw the competition start early in March at the ASK Showground in Meru then traverse the country,” said Twesigye.

She said the competition visited the mountain region, lake region, Nairobi and rift regions and culminated in the final stop in the Coast region.
