Lakers Hockey Club will be seeking to maintain their positive start to the 2023 Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) women's Premier League when they host former champions Blazers Hockey Club at Kisumu Day High School from 1pm on Saturday.
The Kisumu based outfit are currently fourth in the eight-team standings on four points after registering a win and a draw in their opening matches played two weeks ago away in Nairobi.
Lakers hammered newbies Kenyatta University (KU) Titans 6-1 before drawing 1-1 with defending champions Strathmore University Scorpions.
The hosts will also hope to end their winless streak against the record champions after failing to beat them in their five-meeting so far.

Lakers have played against Blazers four times in the local league and once in the Africa Club Championship.
In the local league, Lakers have drawn three times (including twice when at home) and they have lost once (2-1 in November 2019). The two teams drew 1-1 in the continental games held in Kenya in February.
A win for Lakers will see them still remain fourth on seven points but having played a game less than the top three sides.
Scorpions lead the standings with 11 points after six matches followed by Blazers with nine points after three matches. Sailors are third with eight points after playing four matches.
On Sunday, USIAU Spartans who won their first game of the season against University of Nairobi 1-0 last month will host Sailors looking to maintain their perfect start.
In the men's Premier League, Western Jaguars will travel to play USIU men and KCA University as Kenya Police play Sailors.
