Braeburn, Seahorses rule Nairobi County Swimming Association gala

Braeburn Swimming Club and Seahorses Aquatic Centre dominated the Nairobi County Swimming Association (NCSA) Level Two swimming gala held at Kiota School at the weekend.

Braeburn, whose swimmers have been enjoying top form, continued to call shots garnering 48 medals to win the men's contest.

They bagged 21 gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze medals with their closest challengers Seahorses bagging 13 gold, 10 silver and eight bronze to settle for second best.

Pro Swim Academy Kenya were third with 12 gold and four silver medals. Little Fish Swim Club and Fithub Aquatics completed the top five list with 14 and seven medals respectively.

Seahorses carried the day in the women's contest after accumulating 36 medals. They won 14 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze, while Kianda Swim Team, which finished second, took 12 gold, seven silver and three bronze.

Braeburn girls were third with nine gold, eight silver and 10 bronze, Little Fish Swim Club (19 medals) and Brookhouse Schools with seven medals, finished fourth and fifth.

Mitchelle Mutheu of Fithub Aquatics emerged tops in girls eight to nine years with 12 points. Amelia Lungati of Seahorses and Anais Simiyu of Little Fish finished third tied on 11 points.

An elated Mutheu said she was impressed by her performance.

"I think I performed well and I really liked the experience, my aim is to go to the Olympics," Mutheu said.
