NAIROBI, KENYA: Some users have registered complaints about the newly launched Sh198,953 Samsung Galaxy Fold phones.
According to the www.cnbc.com, many users complain that the inside display is no longer working, the left side of the phone flashing and one cannot use the right side of the phone satisfactorily.
The phone has only been given to gadget reviewers, but some of the screens appear to be disconnecting and permanently flashing on or off.
Samsung in a statement appearing in the same publication acknowledges receipt of report regarding the main display on the Galaxy Fold samples provided to the media. It says will inspect the units in person to determine the cause of the matter.

“A limited number of early Galaxy Fold samples were provided to media for review. We have received a few reports regarding the main display on the samples provided. We will thoroughly inspect these units in person to determine the cause of the matter.”
“Separately, a few reviewers reported having removed the top layer of the display causing damage to the screen. The main display on the Galaxy Fold features a top protective layer, which is part of the display structure designed to protect the screen from unintended scratches. Removing the protective layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage. We will ensure this information is clearly delivered to our customers.”
The Galaxy Fold is a 4.6 inch-smartphone that opens up into a 7.3-inch tablet. The device, which will cost $1,980, will run on Android 9.0 and be available in four colors (black, silver, green and blue).
The internal display is capable of showing up to three apps at a time, so you can surf the web, text, work, watch video and share posts on social media simultaneously.
Samsung said it has been working with Facebook, Google and Microsoft to create special versions of their popular apps to fit the new display.
