Police nab bhang worth Sh13.7 million

Police in Migori are holding a man after they nabbed bhang worth Sh13.7 million.
Suna West Sub-County Police Commander Chrispine Ogutu, who confirmed the arrest, said the bhang was intercepted along Giribe-Masara road, and a suspect transporting the illegal drugs was arrested.
"While working on a tip off, we were able to confiscate eight sacks of cannabis sativa weighing 407.6kg, whose street value is worth Sh13.7 million," Mr. Ogutu said.
Moreover, the suspect was found to have four different number plates.

The vehicle the suspect used in transporting the bhang was towed to Oruba Police Station, where the suspect is being held.
Ogutu confirmed that the exhibit had also been kept at the station.
The Suna West police boss indicated that they have intensified patrols to help curb such illegal businesses in the constituency.
He observed that such businesses have been common and that they wanted to eliminate illegal trade.
