NAIROBI, KENYA: The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Friday said production of new car number plates has resumed after raw material shortage and expects backlog to be cleared in next five days.
Members of the public had raised alarm over the shortage delaying clearance of vehicles at the Container Freight Stations (CFS).
“We would like to assure Kenyans that the challenge faced in production of new Car Number Plates due to a shortage of raw material, has since been resolved. Production has resumed and we expect the back log to be addressed over the next 5 days,” reads a statement signed by Francis Meja, Director General, National Transport and Safety Authority
“In the interim NTSA had already taken measures to ensure that there was no delay in the issuance of licenses and release of cars from the port.”
