Kenya Ports boss William Ruto's daughter dies in accident

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) boss William Ruto’s daughter has died after his family was involved in a road accident on April 3, 2026, evening.
In a statement the authority confirmed that the daughter did not make it alive.
“Regrettably, his daughter did not survive the accident. We extend our thoughts and deepest condolences to Capt. Ruto and his family during this time of immense grief,” said KPA in the statement.
The authority confirmed that its boss and his other family members were in a stable condition and under close medical supervision.
“We wish them quick and full recovery.”

KPA said that they would provide updates as they matter is being investigated by the relevant authorities while requesting for family’s privacy during the difficult time.
“We are cooperating with the relevant authorities as they establish the circumstances surrounding the incident,” said KPA.
The authority thanked Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and his Taita Taveta counterpart Andrew Mwadime for their swift assistance and support following the accident.
“We also thank our staff, partners, stakeholders, and the general public for their continued support, patience and cooperation.”
