Witness Anthony Mureithi Mnikiwa, an M-Pesa attendant at Taita Shop along Ogada Street in Kisumu, is currently testifying before the Siaya Law Courts in the murder case of Wells Fargo Human Resource Director Willis Ayieko.
Mureithi told the court that the main suspect, Victor Otieno alias Sisco, visited the shop while holding Ayieko's national ID card and proceeded to withdraw Sh45,000, Sh30,000, and Sh70,000 in separate instalments.
CCTV footage shown in court captured the main suspect receiving the cash from the attendant before pocketing it.
The court also heard that Sisco used Ayieko's ID to make withdrawals from the victim's mobile money account on 19th and 20th October 2024.

Meanwhile, as the cash was being withdrawn from Ayieko's mobile phone, other members of the gang were allegedly holding and torturing Ayieko at the home of Duncan Otuchi, an alleged chicken thief in Kwisero Constituency.
Ayieko was mysteriously abducted after attending a funeral night vigil on October 18, 2024.
His mutilated body was discovered at Mungowere Stream, on the border of Siaya and Kakamega Counties, on October 23.
His vehicle was found abandoned at a petrol station in Sabatia, Vihiga County, several kilometres away from the scene of the crime.
An autopsy conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Ayieko died from head injuries that led to brain haemorrhage.
