Former Lands Commissioner and Baringo Central Member of Parliament Sammy Silas Komen Mwaita has been arrested in connection with a land fraud case in Nairobi West.
Mwaita was arrested on Sunday by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kilimani.
He is facing several charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, creating a document without authority, abuse of office, and providing false information to a public officer.
His arrest follows new directives from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) regarding two plots on Mai Mahiu Road in Nairobi West.
According to the DCI, the parcels, both prime properties, are valued at millions of shillings.
