The Government has released Sh3.51 billion for the Inua Jamii cash transfer programme for the month of May.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the funds, totaling Sh3,519,312,000, will benefit over one million individuals enrolled in the programme.
Payments began yesterday, with each beneficiary set to receive Sh2,000 for the May cycle.
Social Protection Principal Secretary Joseph Motari said the programme aims to support vulnerable groups, including the elderly and persons with disabilities.
