The Transport Workers Union Kenya has appointed Nicholas Ogolla as it's Secretary-General in the interim, effective immediately.
Ogolla replaces Dan Mihadi, who has been suspended from office with immediate effect.
"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas Ogolla as the new Acting General Secretary. Dan Mihadi has been suspended from the position following an internal union mechanism," the Union said in a letter addressed to Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU).
The Union noted that Ogolla brings extensive experience in labor representation, organisational leadership, and the advocacy of workers' rights.
According to the Union, the leadership transition was conducted in line with its constitution and by-laws, and has received full endorsement from both the Central Council organ of the Union and the Registrar of Trade Unions Kenya.
