Kenya Power says it has restored its pre-paid system after hours of a system glitch that hindered the purchase of electricity token.
In a statement, the parastatal said that they have successfully sorted the issue and people can go ahead to purchase the tokens.
Their statement comes hours after they had issued another statement notifing its customers that they are experiencing a technical hitch on their pre-paid system, affecting the generation of electricity tokens.
“We are working to resolve normalcy within the shortest time possible. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the power company said in a statement on Thursday, October 19.

This is after netizens complained that they could not purchase tokens via Mpesa.
Those who attempted were notified that the company's system receiving the payments experienced some technical challenges.
An X user, Andrew Kiboi complained that the issue had persisted for over seven hours and he was yet to be assisted.
“I woke up and found my tokens had expired but tried severally to purchase since 4.00 a.m. up but I am unable to,” he said.
This is not the first time the parastatal is experiencing a system glitch.
In July, Kenya Power advised their customers to purchase tokens through their banking halls, Airtel Money, and authorized banks after experiencing another technical hitch
