Drunk officer kills colleague, injures another in Gigiri shooting

A police officer shot and killed his colleague and wounded another in a tragic incident at Gigiri Police Station on Monday night.
According to police reports, the suspect, identified as Corporal Limo Kipkosgey Nahason, was intoxicated when he opened fire inside the station's canteen. He was later apprehended at the scene.
"Nahason, a police corporal attached to Parliament as a protection officer, appeared visibly drunk at the time of his arrest," authorities said.
The fatal shooting claimed the life of Eric Munga, an officer from Runda Police Station, who was shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead on arrival after being rushed to a Nairobi hospital.
Also injured in the attack was Philip Kae, an officer assigned to the Judiciary, who sustained a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. He is currently in stable condition.

Police recovered a Jericho pistol loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition from the suspect. He remains in custody as investigations, including a ballistic analysis of the weapon, continue.
Authorities have yet to disclose the motive behind the shooting.
