Kenya's junior golfers are in Tunisia and ready for the 2025 All-Africa Junior Team Championship, which started at the Residence Golf Course yesterday.
The event is the premier junior golf event in Africa and attracts great competition across the continent. Kenya's team consists of four boys and three girls.
Principal Secretary for the State Department for Sports, Elijah Mwangi, CBS, flagged off the Kenya Junior Golf Team at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club on Sunday.
The boy's team includes Sigona Golf Club's Junaid Manji 17, Karen Golf and Country Club's Nathan Mwangi 16, Tsevi Soni, 15 also from Sigona Golf Club and Justin Ngeera 14 of Vet Lab Sports Club.

Making up the girl's team are Belinda Wanjiru 15 (Vet Lab Sports Club) Hazel Kuria 17, and Audrey Gachora 15 both from the Muthaiga Golf Club.
The seven players were selected from the National Provisional Junior Golf Squad, which consisted of 12 boys and 10 girls, based on the squad's training and ranking.
The final squad was selected on February 27, 2025, and went into training and course practice thrice a week in preparation for the tournament.
Some of them also participated in the NCBA Kenya Junior Strokeplay Championship and the Kabete Junior Open tournaments for additional experience ahead of the Africa event.
