A fierce war of words has erupted on social media between two of Nigeria's biggest music stars, Wizkid and Davido, garnering attention across the nation.
The longstanding rivalry between these two superstars, who boast millions of followers worldwide, has once again taken center stage, dividing Nigerian music lovers into opposing camps of "Team Wizkid" and "Team Davido."
The latest clash began when fans on the social media platform X pleaded with Wizkid, 33, to release a new song.
In response, Wizkid shared a video widely circulated previously, showing a man on his knees begging for a favor, suggesting he would drop the song if fans begged like the man in the clip.
Speculation quickly arose that the man in the video was Davido, 31, although Davido himself has remained silent on the matter.

Nevertheless, Wizkid's post set off a firestorm on social media, igniting tensions among fans and even causing friction between other artists like Kizz Daniel, Tekno, and Timaya.
In a fiery clapback, Davido launched a scathing attack, claiming Wizkid's music is no longer relevant and boasting of his own dominance in the industry. He taunted Wizkid, referencing their canceled tour and declaring his readiness to release new hits.
Davido's words reverberated across social media as he declared, "That's what I thought. Nothing to say, exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of USD of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again."
In response, Wizkid dismissed Davido's claims of superiority, asserting that he and his crew have nothing on him musically.
He expressed disappointment over the canceled tour and brushed off Davido's remarks, stating, "There's no point. Delusional guys, I'll pray for you all."
The feud between the two artists, reportedly stemming from a falling out in 2023, has now escalated into a full-blown online confrontation, garnering attention from fans and industry insiders alike.
