Woman dies, several injured after truck rams into six vehicles

A truck lost control and rammed into six vehicles at Karugia area, Murang'a county, on Monday evening, October 10.
Following the incident, a female driver died on the spot while several other people were injured.
Those injured were rushed to the nearby Kenol hospital for treatment.
Murang'a South Police Commander Alexander Shikondi has since confirmed the incident saying the accident took place after the truck's brakes failed.
"The truck's brakes failed while descending a steep slope towards Murang'a direction before it rammed into the oncoming vehicles. The truck later overturned and blocked one lane of the road," said Shikondi.

Following the accident, there was a heavy traffic snarl up and motorists plying along the road were asked to use alternative routes such as Kenol- Makuyu -Mbombo.
The section was closed as the motorists joined in rescuing those who were trapped in the six vehicles.
