Two prison warders are among four suspects being held by police in Machakos over the recent wave of crime in the town and its environs.
Machakos District Criminal Investigations Officer Henry Ndombi confirmed the two prison officers are based at the Machakos GK prison.
Police believe the gang is behind separate murders of four night guards at Muumandu, Katoloni, Eastleigh and Mjini areas in the past two weeks.
Ndombi told The Standard on Wednesday that the suspects were being interrogated to establish their illegal networks before they are arraigned in court to face charges.
"Two more members of this gang that we suspect is behind a series of robberies that have hit Machakos town and its environs are at large but we are certain we will get them from their hideout", added Ndombi who appealed to members of the public to help in the hunt.
