Baringo, Kenya: Fear gripped Mogotio town in Baringo County after what looked like an improvised explosive device (IED) was found at the Jamia Mosque compound.
The bomb-like object was taken to Mogotio police station as hundreds of curious residents milled around the mosque compound.
According to Mogotio OCPD Patrick Nyangeresi, bomb experts from Nakuru who later arrived to inspect the object said it was a fake explosive and was thus harmless.
It was, however, not immediately clear how the object ended up at the mosque compound.
