A nurses union has called off a strike that had been set for today in Uasin Gishu County.
Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) Uasin Gishu branch yesterday called off the planned strike following successful talks with county officials.
The two sides held a two-day consultative meeting where it was agreed that the nurses' grievances would be addressed.
Branch secretary general John Bii who doubles up as the national chairman had earlier issued a two-week strike notice.
