Dar es Salaam-bound flight diverts to JKIA due to medical emergency

A Kenya Airways plane from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam was returned to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Sunday shortly after departure.

In a statement, the airline confirmed that the flight returned shortly at around 1.40 pm due to a medical emergency.

The aircraft was received by medical personnel, and the necessary health and safety protocols were followed.

“Passengers were briefed and provided with guidance in line with health and safety regulations. Upon attending to the emergency, the flight was cleared for takeoff to Dar es Salaam at 15:54hrs,” stated KQ.

Kenya Airways has emphasised prioritising on passengers and crew’s safety and well being.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of our guests during this period,” it added.
