Naivasha MP Jane Kihara has questioned the source of millions of shillings being dished out by Deputy President Kindiki Kithure through the economic empowerment programme.
This comes two days after the DP and a host of leaders donated over Sh10 million to various groups in Naivasha under the empowerment programme.
According to Kihara, who did not attend the event, the exercise targeted only Central Kenya, where some MPs faced resistance after supporting the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua.
“We have seen the DP and his cronies going round dishing cash to a few members of the public in a bid to woo them back to the government while using embezzled funds,” she said.

Speaking during the commissioning of an administration block in Highway Secondary school in Naivasha, Kihara accused the President of campaigning as Kenyans suffered.
On education, the MP raised her concern over reports that there was no cash for examinations, terming this a crisis in the country.
“This government has failed in all sectors, and, sadly, gains made in the education sector are being eroded every day,” she said.
Addressing the press, the outspoken legislator revisited the issue of tens of missing youths, adding that the government was responsible.
“The President said that all those who were abducted had been returned to their families, and this is a lie as parents are still in pain months after their children were kidnapped,” she said.
