Voroni Strikers’ crowning as the Mombasa County Maisha league champions was put on hold after their 12 match unbeaten record went up in smoke when they were beaten 1-0 by Shanzu United at Shanzu Harare ground.

Hassan Zubra scored the all-important goal for the hosts in the 75th minute. The result threw the Maisha County league title wide open between Voroni Strikers and Shanzu Swansea. After playing 15 matches Voroni Strikers are placed at the summit of the 17 team log with 38 points, two points behind Shanzu Swansea.

Voroni need any type of a draw against second-placed Shanzu Swansea during their last match scheduled for Sunday at Ziwani Lasco. Swansea has the possibility of being crowned the champions should they beat Voroni.
