Chase for Rift Valley Regional tickets commences this morning when Nakuru County Secondary Schools Term Two Games get underway at Koelel High School in Gilgil.

Most of the top giants in different disciplines have made it to the county games after their sub-county games ended last week.

And the same giants are equally determined to get to the regional championships, a move that could make the event more competitive as small schools aim to slay the hitherto kings and queens in the three-day competition that ends on Friday.

Former Rift Valley regional football champions Menengai High are back again in hunt for the county title.

Menengai are in Pool C with representatives of Molo and a team that is yet to be identified.

Pool B has St Francis, Trinity and Masaita.

Pool A has Magereza Academy of Naivasha and Cheptuech of Kuresoi South, with Pool D consisting of Jomo Kenyatta, Kirobon Boys and St Francis of Njoro.

Most counties held their games last week, apart from Nakuru, which should open doors for the regional championships set for Hills School in Eldoret from July 8-13.

Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Nakuru County Secretary Peter Macharia said it’s all systems go after all their 11 sub-counties completed their championships last week.

In girls’ football, Molo champions PCEA Kambala take the lead in Pool A which also has Moi Forces Academy and Tumaini High School.

Pool B has Ogiek Secondary of Kuresoi South, Mwaragania and Trinity, while Pool C has Kabazi, St Andrew’s and a third team that will be named this morning.
