Battle for KVF Men's National League playoffs slots on at Nyayo

Eight matches are on the cards tomorrow as the fourth leg of the 2024-2025 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Men's National League season serves off at the Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium and volleyball court.

Former champions the General Service Unit (GSU) who are currently fourth on the table with 17 points from six matches will be hunting their seventh victory.

GSU who are looking to recapture the title they lost to Kenya Prisons in 2023 are the only side that is yet to test defeat and will be out to maintain their unbeaten run in the fourth leg which runs from today to Sunday.

The paramilitary side which has four matches lined up is keen to bag maximum points and enhance their chances of maintaining the top four spot.

GSU will play Mt Kenya Base Yetu tomorrow before tackling Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Second-placed KPA will take on Kenya Forest Services (KFS) who will be out to ensure that they consolidate their place in the top eight and increase their chances of securing a playoffs slot.

The dockers have 24 points from eight wins and a loss while KFS who are eighth on the standings have 10 points from six matches. KPA will play winless National Youth Service (NYS) in their second tie later in the day.

KDF will be out to prove their might against Western Prisons who will be chasing their second win of the season.

KDF who have won five and lost one will be out to cement their spot in the top eight and also move up from their current sixth place.

Prisons Rift Valley will take on Mt Kenya Base Yetu who failed to turn up for their third leg matches. Rift Valley have won two and lost seven and are currently 12th on log with six points. Mt Kenya on the other hand lead from the bottom with no points after eight rounds of matches.

In other matches, Prisons Nairobi will play Administration Police of Kenya (APK) in the morning and Equity Bank in the afternoon whereas Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) will take on the Kenya Army. Defending champions Kenya Prisons will not be in action today but will play APK tomorrow.

The warders who are determined to extend their reign for a third year in a row top the table with 26 points from nine matches.

With KPA hot on their heels, Kenya Prisons who have won nine matches and lost one will be out to secure all points so they can maintain their top spot. They will also play KFS on Saturday and end their fourth leg campaign against Equity Bank on Sunday.
