A series of mouth-watering clashes are lined up this weekend as the third leg of the 2024-2025 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women's National League serves off at Nyayo volleyball court on Saturday.

Former champions Kenya Pipeline will leave nothing to chance as they seek to extend their good and cement their place at the peak of the table.

The current league leaders will be eying maximum points when they face off with Kenya Army and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Double victory will be a perfect start to the year for the oilers, who are looking to recapture the title that has eluded the past two years.

They had a good start to the season winning all their matches during the first and second legs to top the standings with 13 points from five outings.

Today, they take on fourth placed Kenya Army, who are yet to taste defeat and boast of nine points. They also face an uphill task tomorrow when they take on DCI who will also be looking to extend their winning streak to five matches.

Pipeline captain Gladys Ekaru said that they were going for nothing but victory but they don't expect to have it the easy way and they must just be at their best.

"We started the season well and won against our tough opponents KCB and Kenya Prisons. We have prepared well for this weekend's matches and our aim is to secure maximum points. Both DCI and Kenya Army are very strong this season and so we must just do our best," Ekaru said.

Champions Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), who have not been at their best winning just one of three matches, will be hoping to regain their footing when they take on Prisons Nairobi today.

Tomorrow, the bankers, who had a slow start to the season, will tackle Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in their fifth tie.

KCB are currently sixth with five points from a win and two losses and double victory will see them move up the log.

In the last encounter today, Postbank, who have won one match and lost two and are currently 10th on the log with two points, will play seventh place KDF, who have three points from a win and a loss.

The battle of wardresses pitting former titleholders Kenya Prisons and Prisons Nairobi is set for tomorrow. Kenya Prisons, who are third on the standings with 12 points, are eyeing their fifth victory which will see them maintain their top three spot on the log.

Prisons Nairobi, who are stuck at the bottom of the table, on the other hand must win this weekend's encounters to move up. They are 11th with one point from two matches but are technically at the bottom following the withdrawal of Lipa Likes Volleyball club from the league.
