After two consecutive victories in the Africa Women Volleyball Club Championships, KCB’s Technical Director Paul Bitok has warned his players not to be complacent in their ambition to win the continental title.

Bitok said the task ahead was enormous and therefore players need to be keen in every match as they approach the knockout stages.

“We shall do our best as it’s always the wish of every coach to win but we must be keen on all teams that are in the tournament, because they are here for a reason,” said the experienced tactician.

Bitok spoke after the bankers registered their second victory thrashing Litto Team Volley (LTV) of Cameroon 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 19-25 and 30-28) with the scores indicating it was tougher than their opening match.

Against the Cameroonians, he said they used middle blockers in quick attacks to make their game faster to avoid attacks from their opponents.

“We had a good service, which enabled us to get more counter attacks against them. We used our middle blockers in quick attacks to make our game faster and avoid two blocks from the Cameroonian team from our outside hitters,” said the tactician who is also the the Kenya Volleyball Federation Vice president.

In their opening match, the bankers defeated Association Sportiff De Bejaia of Algeria in straight sets of 25-16, 25-9 and 25-21.

Bitok said the competition was tough but they will do their best to deliver positive results.

Kenya is represented in the contiental event by KCB, Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Prisons.
