Kenya Pipeline and KCB off to perfect start at African Volleyball Club Championship

Kenyan volleyball giants Kenya Pipeline and KCB opened their CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship campaigns with remarkable victories as the continental tourney got off to an exciting start in Cairo, Egypt on Friday.

In their first match of the championship, Kenya Pipeline, a seasoned contender, faced off against Nigeria's Customs V.C.

The Kenyan side displayed sheer dominance, sweeping aside their opponents with a convincing 3-0 victory (16-25/10-25/14-25), setting a strong tone in Group C.

Meanwhile, KCB, the former Africa Champions, made a resounding statement in their opening match against ASW BEJAIA from Algeria.

KCB, determined to reclaim continental glory after previous championship wins in 2006 and 2022, delivered a commanding performance, securing a straight-set victory over ASW BEJAIA (25-16, 25-9, 25-21) in Group B.

Led by Team Captain Edith Wisa and boasting a formidable lineup, KCB aims to replicate their past successes and emerge as a top contender in this prestigious tournament.

 Their victory over ASW BEJAIA reflects their readiness and determination to showcase their skills on the continental stage.

The tournament has seen other captivating encounters, including Al Ahly's dominant performance against NC Bejaia (3-0) and Zamalek VB Club's sweeping triumph over Asec Mimosa (3-0).

Notably, MKE from Cameroon engaged in a thrilling five-set battle against SDO from Reunion, ultimately emerging victorious (3-2).

Kenyan teams Kenya Pipeline and KCB have laid down the gauntlet early on, signaling their intent to make a deep impact in the CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship.

As the tournament progresses, fans can expect more excitement and fierce competition from these dynamic African volleyball powerhouses.
