National women beach Volleyball coach Salome Wanjala has asked her chargers to remain focused as the face top teams at the Africa Zone V qualifiers set to start in Mombasa.

"We have been training for the past two weeks and we have achieved a lot. We have been working on how to limit our errors and attacking with vision," said Wanjala.

"All our opponents are tough going by their past history but we are focused on winning the tournament and advance to the next final stage," she added.

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) has settled on Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort as the venue for the event that starts on Wednesday to Sunday.

The LOC chairman, who is also the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Deputy President Paul Bitok, said the venue met all conditions required by Zone V executive to stage the tournament.

"Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort provides an exceptional backdrop for the 2023 CAVB Zone V Beach Volleyball qualifiers. We aim to deliver an outstanding tournament for both participants and spectators," said Bitok.

"Our focus remains on the teams and we expect their arrival on Tuesday before a technical meeting at the venue to ensure all is in place before the tournament begins," he added.

Beach Volleyball Commission of Kenya chairman Moses Mbuthia visited the team in camp and assured them of their support as they prepare for competition.

The Olympic qualifiers will also double up as qualifiers for the delayed 2023 Africa Games set for March 8-23 in Ghana next year. Three cities, Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast will host the continental games.
