KCB Women's Volleyball Team has continued with its preparations for the 2023 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League playoffs scheduled for October 2nd- 4th at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

The 2022 African Club Champions have been training at the event's venue and are expecting to bag the trophy that has eluded them for the past 15 years.

They finished the league phase of the season second behind Kenya Pipeline after garnering 24 points to cement their position ahead of the much-awaited showpiece that has drawn top guns together.

KCB's action will serve off on Monday 2nd as they tackle Kenya Prisons before locking horns with detectives DCI on Tuesday and wrap up the season with a pulsating encounter against their nemesis Kenya Pipeline on Wednesday afternoon.

Commenting on the playoffs during a training session at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, KCB Head Coach Japheth Munala said: "I am ready for the playoffs as we have had enough time to prepare for it. We started training here on Monday and I cannot wait to see the girls go out there on the big stage to clinch this trophy that has eluded us for the past 15 years. We will give an opportunity to young players to express themselves on this stage."

The gaffer, who guided KCB to the continental glory in 2022 is expected to name his squad later today before the team reports for its camp at the Kasarani Sports View Hotel tomorrow morning.

Kwanzanze High School star Marlene Terry who recently joined the Munala-led charges is likely to make her debut for her new team in next week's fixtures as she is currently training with the team.

KCB lost 3-1 to Kenya Pipeline in last season's playoffs to miss out on the title and are upbeat this year, they will triumph to position themselves as the local, and continental volleyball giants.
