Prisons keen to continue with good run

Former national champions Kenya Prisons are determined to extend their good run when the National Women's Volleyball League enters in the second leg this weekend at Nyayo Stadium.

Coach Jasp Barasa said they have been training vigorously ahead of the weekend matches.

"We played well in the first leg and our good preparations paid dividends through hard work and dedication," said the coach.

"The training is going on well and we expect a good show during our two weekend matches."

Prisons are set to play newcomers Post Bank tomorrow before taking on African champions KCB on Sunday.

Barasa has experienced captain Blackcides Agala, Yvonne Wavinya and Loice Tarus to lead the onslaught.

Prisons started the league positively after beating Vihiga 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-13) and they will be out to extend the unbeaten run.

Reigning national champions Kenya Pipeline take on Nairobi Water tomorrow before playing Kenya Army on Sunday.

Pipeline's coach Paul Gitau will be out to maintain his good run in the league as he eyes to retain the title.

Pipeline hit Nairobi Prisons 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-21) in their first leg match.

Coach Gitau boasts of a galaxy of top notch players led by captain Rose Magoi, Gladys Ekaru, Pamela Adhiambo, Trizah Atuka and Naomi Too among others.

KCB is expected to have an easy day tomorrow when they play Vihiga volleyball club before taking on Kenya Prisons on Sunday in a match expected to be a thriller.
