Malkia Strikers marked their third victory at the end of their preliminary round matches with a routine 3-0 over Burundi to seal their place in the semifinals in the ongoing women’s African Nations Championship in Kigali, Rwanda.

Kenya took set one with a comfortable 25-8 score before almost repeating the same in a 25-9 second set win. The East Africans sealed the win with a 25-11 third set victory.

Kenya have now stamped their second place position in Group B with nine points same as leaders Cameroon who play on Friday

Two top teams from the two groups will qualify automatically to the semifinals where Kenya are most probably going to face hosts Rwanda who lead Group A.

After a slow start to the volleyball games where Kenya lost to reigning champions Cameroon, the Malkia Strikers got back on track by flooring the Democratic Republic of Congo 3-0 on Monday.

Kenya followed the victory with another drubbing of Tunisia which increased their chances of making the semifinals.
