National league champions Kenya Prisons qualified for the Kenya Volleyball Federation Challenge Cup final after they defeated Mombasa Prisons with straight sets at Afraha Open grounds in Nakuru yesterday.

Buoyed by their first two victories in the league matches on Friday, the warders, who are coached by Gideon Chenje, easily won the sets 25-20, 25-20, 29-27 in a semi-final match that lasted one hour and 10 minutes.

The tournament was stopped for close to one hour following a heavy downpour. In the second semi, Nairobi Water defeated GSU 3-1. [Ben Ahenda]
