Tune Hotel opens Nairobi unit next week

Malaysian owned International low cost hotel brand, Tune Hotel chain opens its first establishment in Nairobi next week. The new hotel to be located in Westlands will have 280 rooms.

Tune Hotels President, Joe Stenson in earlier interviews stated that they are keen to establish 10 new hotels in East Africa with the second one to be opened in 2018 in the Port city of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Since the opening of its first hotel in 2007, Tune Hotels has hosted more than seven million guests. It has 45 hotels in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, India and the UK.

“This is exciting news coming at a time when Kenyan tourism is on a rebound after years of a downward spiral,’’ Sam Ikwaye, an official of Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (Kahc) said. —Philip Mwakio
