Chinese mobile manufacturer Tecno Mobile has once again rattled the Kenyan market with the launch of the dual Sim Tecno Boom J8, which has been described as one of the company’s best-designed and affordable smartphone with a customized operating system, Hios.

The operating system is based on Android 5.1 lollipop. Although Tecno Boom J8 is an upgrade of the J7, which was launched last year, the latest handset comes with a number of cutting edge features, both smart and intelligent, that offer users a top of range experience.

‘‘This is the slimmest of all the Tecno Mobile devices,’’ a statement from the firm said after the official launch in Nairobi, last week.

The phone also features two speaker grills at the bottom, one serving as speaker and other as a microphone.

Additional features include a 2 GB RAM, which apart from improving performance, contributes to efficiency. The device is also equipped with a 16GB internal memory which is expandable to 128 GB with the support of a micro-SD card, added the statement.

‘‘This makes a wonderful data storage partner, which ultimately meets the needs of many users such as file transfers, gaming among others.’’

The device, which has been described as a music and entertainment centric device is available in three distinct colours: Tecno boom J8 launchSuper White, Space Grey and Champaigne Red.
