Various tourist attraction sites in Kilifi County are still untapped due to lack of aggressive marketing, Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto has said.

He said apart from the touristic towns of Malindi and Watamu which are popular holiday destinations, the rest of the county which has rich cultural heritage remain untapped.

‘’We appeal to the Kenya Tourism Board, which is the government agency charged with marketing destination Kenya to include the rest of Kilifi County in its marketing programmes to allow local and international tourists to come sample the diverse tourist attractions in the county of Kilifi,’’ Mr Kamto said.

The deputy governor spoke at Mada Baobab Sea Lodge in Kilifi after meeting guests at the facility.

General Manager of Baobab Sea Lodge Peter Njoroge said the ongoing road upgrade works on the Kaloleni-Mavueni road would be a boost to people keen to travel to Kilifi for holiday.
