KWS rangers were right to shoot lion

I read with utter shock comments on social media condemning the killing of a stray lion by the KWS rangers on Wednesday.

One thing some Kenyans failed to realise was that the lion is a dangerous animal. The rangers killed the lion to prevent it from causing further harm after it attacked a boda boda rider.

I salute the rangers who acted out of human interest after they realised the much-needed tranquilisers to immobilise the lion were not forthcoming.

KWS should now ensure the electric fences are working to prevent the animals from escaping from the park.
