A man who was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his dad told court that the old man slept with prostitutes.

David Nderitu,30, is alleged to have threatened his dad, Moses Muregi, on March 9 at their home.

The court heard that on the fateful day, Muregi asked Nderitu to clean his car but he (Nderitu) turned violent and started hurling insults.

He took stones and reportedly threatened to kill him. He claimed that his father had a hand in his mother’s death in 1994 and that the old man has since then been sleeping with prostitutes, whom he brings home.

According to police records, Nderitu was drunk and was smoking bhang.

Neighbours who heard the commotion rushed to Muregi’s rescue.

They called cops who arrested him. He denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000.

The case will be heard on September 22.
