The Foxes are flying high at the top of the table following three consecutive wins and they can take a big step towards the title with a victory at Arsenal on Sunday

Louis van Gaal is happy for Leicester to win the Premier League - because he wants to see former Foxes favourite Gary Lineker present Match of the Day in his underpants.

Leicester are flying high at the top of the table following successive wins over Stoke, Liverpool and Manchester City, and they can take a big step towards the title with a victory at Arsenal on Sunday.

After a 1-1 draw between Van Gaal's Manchester United and Leicester in November last year, the Dutchman admitted Claudio Ranieri's side were credible title contenders.

"It is possible, I think," Van Gaal said after the match. "Normally these kind of clubs can be a long time competing, but normally at the end it's more difficult.

"But in England because of the quality of the teams, because every team has the money to buy players - and they have bought players - the difference in the Premier League between the clubs in level is not so high."

Just over two weeks later, the Foxes recorded a 2-1 home win over Chelsea to return them to the top of the Premier League.

"YES! If Leicester win the Premier League I'll do the first MOTD of next season in just my undies," Lineker tweeted after the win - a result which ultimately led to Jose Mourinho's sacking by Chelsea.

And Van Gaal will definitely be watching the Premier League highlights show if Lineker's former club do indeed go on to lift the title.

“They are the favourites because they are five points away from the rest, but the moment that they have to win it is different,” Van Gaal told the Independent.

“Maybe you remember that I have already said that Leicester can be the champion? The Godfather, Gary Lineker, was laughing about that, but he has to undress himself if they win it, is that right?

“Well, I am waiting for that.”
