8 feared dead, 7 seriously injured after cattle raid in Samburu North

Samburu, Kenya: At least eight people are feared death in Marti Samburu North, Samburu County after cattle rustlers attacked Marti village on Friday morning.

According to area residents the attack left seven people nursing gunshot injuries with two minors airlifted to Kenyatta National hospital for treatment.

One of the minors sustained a gunshot on the head while another was shot on his leg during the attack.

Samburu County coordinator Washington Achoka confirmed the incident. “Police officers deployed in the area have recovered 300 heads of cattle stolen during the raid,” he said.

He added that calm has been restored in the area with security officers patrolling the area.
