DP Ruto’s wife advices Kenyans to avoid poor eating habits

EMBU: Deputy President William Ruto’s wife has asked women to watch what they eat and exercise regularly to reduce chances of getting diseases.

She said lack of exercise and poor eating habits was affecting many people world over. 

“Cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes are some of the diseases caused by poor eating lifestyle”, she said.

Mrs Ruto made the remarks during a Joyful Women Organization (JoyWo) Chairladies meeting hosted by Senator Lenny Kivuti’s wife Mrs Hilda Kivuti at their Kanyaumbora, Embu County.

She challenged women to exercise to improve their health.

The Deputy President’s wife congratulated women in Embu County for being active participants of table banking and encouraged them to engage in income generating projects.

She appealed to them to utilize locally available opportunities within their regions.

“Let’s do business. If you want to succeed in table banking you must do business.”

Mrs Ruto asked the women to consider value addition in their agri-business ventures that could reduce losses citing mango products which are perishable.

She appealed to Kenyan women to take advantage of the 30 per cent Government tenders set aside for youth, women and persons with disability.

“Take advantage of the 30 per cent government tenders that keeps growing every year”, said Mrs Ruto.

Mrs Kivuti encouraged women of Embu County to compete among themselves in saving so that the women groups can have more revolving funds.
